NEW OCTOBER TREE ALBUM IN THE WORKS
Tammy's song, "Nocturne" has also inspired the album's name, "Night Music".
NEW SONG - A NIGHTMARE ON GOAT MOUNTAIN
John Swope is currently working on his drum parts for A Nightmare on Goat Mountain. Dennis Zielinski will play Organ. Matt Sweitzer and Steve Whitworth will do the electric guitars, and I played the bass and acoustic guitar.
OCTOBER TREE GOES TRANSATLANTIC
Dennis Zielinski of the Swedish band, Egonaut is our new Hammond player. We just got the first tracks back from him and we love what he is doing with the music. Dennis uses and endorses the "Organ Grinder" pedal from LounsberrypPedals.com.

Tracy Collins and I have played together in many bands starting back when we were 19 years old. I played a lot of the keyboards on "The Fairy's Wing" myself, so we are very pleased to announce that Tracy will take over that role, playing piano, and synths. This will be a major upgrade to the sound!
Tracy's music production website is:
Tracy produces and sells excellent sample libraries at his "Indiginus" company website:
About half of the album has been stood up on the timeline. Matt, Tracy and Dennis are currently working on their parts. Tammy is at work on the song "Nocturne", that I am really excited about. 11/3/2015
"The Fairy's Wing" by October Tree
"The Fairy's Wing is easily one of the most impressive debuts I've ever heard; the sextet creates and performs with one shared mind, and it's a regal, earthly mind at that. Somehow, the album captures in music form the wonder and enchanted mystery of childhood fairy tales; however, they write, produce, and perform as skilled masters. The future of the genre will indeed be bright with bands like October Tree at the helm, and I for one can't wait to hear what they do next."

Tammy and I met at a recording session 25 years ago for my friend's Christian band. We were married two weeks later. Tracy Collins (tracycollinsmusic.com) was that friend, and he recently sent us the song. It had been so long since we had heard it, we didn't know it was us, until we heard Tammy sing. The song, Under Fire, kind of reminds me of Pat Benatar and Asia! We think it holds up well for a cassette recording......
To listen, select Under Fire from the Site-Wide audio player at the bottom of the page.
Ravenheart Reviews gives The Fairy's Wing 8.5 out of 10 rating. See the Reviews page!
In Victor Aaron's review, he mentions that The Fairy's Wing story is not heavy or overly Tolkeinesque making it more easily digestible. I am actually a big fan of Edgar Rice Burroughs. The songs were serialized like the magazine articles making up one of ERB's books. Each song is a story unto itself, yet they comprise the overarching story of The Fairy's Wing. My own presence as a character in the prologue is standard ERB fare, and explains any anachronistic language, (as I am the chronicler). The story is very human, and anyone who has ever done something they regretted should easily connect with the story. The music wraps you up in the story like a warm blanket. Read it on Kindle or here at octobertree.net.

The Fairy's Wing E-Book is now available at Amazon.com for both the kindle, and free kindle reader. This is a Novelette by Greg Lounsberry that tells the story in finer detail. It makes a good read on it's own, but makes an excellent companion to the music for a more immersive experience. It is well worth the $3.99 asking price.
